Mulu's mother died unexpectedly

It is sad to report the unexpected death of Mulusew's mother, Etoyeh, in Ethiopia from natural causes Tuesday night (September 21, 2010).

Mulu's mother was like a mother to our mission when she was here. She went back to Ethiopia for a few months and had been looking forward to returning soon.

Mulusew and Muluken left promptly for Ethiopia to attend her funeral. They will return in two weeks. The boys are still here and plan on attending church this weekend.

Amma Etoyeh was a dear and sweet blessing to all of us and she will be missed. Our condolences and prayers are with the entire Mulu family.

We will be having the traditional third day memorial service for Amma Etoyeh on Friday evening, September 24, 2010, 6:00 PM, at the mission chapel.

The 40th Day will be on November 1st.

O Lord, may Etoyeh abide in the bosom of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, where all the righteous dwell. And make her memory be eternal! May the entire Mulu family, and all who are grieved and in sorrow, be under the comforting shelter of Your wings. Amen+

    FALL CHAPEL SCHEDULE

(if you wish to receive a hard copy of this schedule or pledge/donation
envelopes, please contact us at transfiguration[at]usa.com - thank you)

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As we enter the time of the Holy Cross, we are reminded that this is the beginning of the time of harvest in the Midwest. Schools have started and the pace of our day to day lives increases, filled with busy-ness and
business. Fr. John Brian would like to take the time to express gratitude to God for all of you and thank you for your prayers and participation. It is important in our small mission that everyone contributes as they are
able. The blessings of your pledges, donations and other contributions enable this mission to continue. The rent for the chapel space will again increase for 2011. Some have suggested we may want to consider another location. Your thoughts, prayers and suggestions are welcome. May God bless our sacrifices made to honor Him and may the Cross protect us and guide us in all our daily activity.

Blessing of Youth for the School Year

We are fortunate to have young people who are active in our church.  This is the blessing for the new school year for the older ones.  This is also the "Good-bye Banchi" group picture at her last Sunday at the chapel.  She has arrived alright in Addis Adaba, Ethiopian.
